2018 NZMVC Armistice 100 Convoy Information and Registration details
Thanks for committing to join the 2018 NZMVC Armistice 100 Convoy.
1st Gear is 0700hrs Tuesday 20th March from Rotorua, finishing Thursday 12th April 24 days later
This Convoy is open to all registered NZMVC members and all eras of Military Vehicles (MVs).
You as the MV owner / primary driver must be a current NZMVC member. Non members will have to pay a sub of NZ$35 to join NZMVC if they are to drive in the convoy as this is a public liability insurance requirement. NZMVC membership for all other members of your crew is optional.
Registrations can be made by downloading the registration form online [here]
Please complete form and either scan and email to agrinzl@xtra.co.nz.
Alternatively post your completed registration form and payment to:

We are limiting the MV roster to 50 MV teams which will include “regional sections”. An “MV team” is considered to include the MV, the driver and a co-driver (highly recommended with all the twists and turns on this route!) and crew. Additionally, an MV team includes an optional non-MV support vehicle, with its driver and crew. Note - Every MV team must include an MV that is to be in the column. No registrations will be accepted from teams without an MV (say, just an RV/campervan ).
We are expecting overseas guests to join our convoy. Can you take a passenger on a cost share basis, or do you have a reliable MV you can hire to these guys? If so, please contact Pete Yates without delay on 0274 905 946
- Additionally we will encourage MV teams to join for a portion of the Convoy route … but we will not accept having MV teams simply dropping in along the route. This is confusing for the new team joining as well as for the rest of the Convoy – and unsafe for all of us – including the General Public. Thus, we will only accept pre-registered teams joining at rest day stops. Finally, to allow the maximum number of NZMVC members to experience a portion of the Convoy, we will accept a number of MV team registrations per “regional section”. This means that you can register for any one of the regional sections listed below. You can select additional Regional Sections – and be considered as Full Distance.
- If your team wishes to join for more than 1 regional section, then you must register and pay for the full distance
The registration cost for this great NZMVC Convoy is priced two ways.
a) FULL DISTANCE registration cost is NZ$200 per MV, including an optional support vehicle and all of your crew. It is 100% NON-REFUNDABLE and is NOT TRANSFERABLE. The primary use of these funds will be to cover all costs associated with organizing this Convoy project. If, for some reason, you can’t make the Convoy your full registration package will be sent to you after the Convoy.
b) REGIONAL SECTION registration cost is NZ$100 per HMV for ONE Regional Section. Again, this includes an optional support vehicle and all of your crew. Again, it is 100% NON-REFUNDABLE and is NOT TRANSFERABLE. If, for some reason, you can’t make the Convoy your full registration package will be sent to you after the Convoy. Two or more sections require full distance registration cost of NZ$200
Please pay directly to ANZ account NZMVC BOP Branch a/c no 06-0491-0078119-10
State your name and initials as the payer reference. Alternatively, send your cheque to address above. Once we receive your payment, you will be marked as registered and a full registration package mailed to you.

General plans for each overnight stop. We have approached Top Ten Holiday Parks and other Accommodation / campsites at each location in order to get some discounted pricing and to keep the convoy together. Top Ten offer a variety of accommodation from Motels, cabins, bunkhouses, powered sites, and campsites. You can register online at https://membership.top10.co.nz/User/Details, cost is $49 for two years
It will be compulsory for one Top Ten Holiday Park Membership per MV registration to obtain their standard 10 % Discount, and as they are the main provider on the convoy, it will be well worth your while to do so as you get discounts on Cook Strait Ferries as well with the card.
A list of Top Ten Holiday parks enroute is on our website, also any other accommodation to be used. (click on Menu; Accommodation). Your code when booking is your Top Ten Card number, also Armistice 100 to associate you with the Convoy bookings.
It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to arrange your accommodation or campsite and we urge you to do so at the earliest as you may miss out on your preferred choice, and in some places there are NO ALTERNATIVES – We do not recommend camping on the West Coast of the South Island as it is notorious for heavy rain at any time. There will be field camping with minimal facilities on Molesworth Station and at Wings over Wanaka Air show. (You will need to register in advance with me for this). It will mean you will need to bring a tent / camping gear for these three nights. As accommodation at Wanaka and surrounds is at an absolute premium during the air show, it is unlikely you will find alternative accommodation anywhere.
All convoy team members are subject to the conditions of the NZMVC code of conduct. This means all convoy members shall conduct themselves in a manner that does not bring danger or discredit to any convoy members, the NZMVC reputation, or to the public. Should any convoy member seriously misbehave, the Convoy Commander reserves the right to expel that member / team from the convoy without further recourse. This is a fun event, don’t spoil it for others!
Finally, please feel free to forward this to other folks in your area / local NZMVC affiliate that are planning to join. Any queries or assistance required in registering, please feel free to make contact (details below).
