kiwis on route 66
All a relatively quite day although we did cut a curb with the trailer and stuff a tyre. We had a Dodge M37 that died and had to go on the trailer in the morning. At the lunch break we put a new condenser in the distributor and it run good so we set it loose. However 5 miles down the road it died hence back on the trailer. Below is a pic of a ford flathead v8 hot rod . The picture is corrupted by a damaged head on Paul as he got his head to close to the radiator fan. The day was drawing to a close and the camp Nazis insisted we buy a campsite just for the trailer, BUT during the relocation event a slab of beer ripped the safety brake link locking up the whole rig in the middle of the highway, blocking all lanes...... some mothers do have em! Epilogue... you CANT pitch a tent in the camp... go figure... we slept on the Concrete Hilton.. no tents! No rain since we started this tour of duty, temps are getting up. 38C yesterday. The camp girls keep invading our air conditioned truck... Things aren't all good with the Dodge Ram. The clutch hates Peters boot and is on the way out, first gears shot, and the exhaust manifold has sheared a bolt in the cylinder head. Apart from that things are great. We need some email feedback and NZ news. i.e. We hear that there is no petrol in Auckland, no airplanes flying and that Winston is sure to be prime minister! There seems to be a recurring theme with that trailer cutting corners. Probablybe st not to let you boys drive a B Train!
