kiwis on route 66
Rest day Springfield Illinois The day started quietly and we stayed in the camp all day. We had a continuous stream of visitors. The first visitor was a guy in a 59 Chevy Impala. It was absolutely immaculate in every respect. The owner's Grandfather bought it brand new in 1959. We talked him into a cruise around town to get some supplies and he said we were the only non-family to ever sit in it. Springfield has a local delicacy called the HORSESHOE, a meat patty on toast covered with a special cheese sauce and all covered with fries. Each one will will feed a grown man for three days. Peter and Paul Give the boys some encouragement by emailing Pete at haigh.co@xtra.co.nz
